I think you guys may be missing something

It takes two to tango in forming a rivalry. I do understand that playing OSU, Michigan, MSU and PSU every year would be challenging and filled with packed stadiums would any of these teams care about VT as a rival?

1) OSU - thinks Michigan is their only rival. The entire B1G schedule centers around the OSU vs. Michigan game. If you think there is a Tobacco Road bias in the ACC you should talk to any B1G fan not associated with the Bucknuts or McChicken.

2) Michigan - see "OSU". They refer to MSU as "little brother" even while losing six in a row to them. They are also entitled fans who worship "The Michigan Way". VT could beat them 20 years in a row, they would still tell you why they are better.

3) MSU - Their rival is Michigan, even if the Wolverines don't recognize it. The B1G tried to force a rivalry with MSU & PSU for the "Land Grant Trophy" but it's not really important to either.

4) PSU - "Unrivaled". BWAHAHAHA!!! Think of it. They have a history of solid football and MNCs and after nearly 3 decades in the B1G they best they can do is celebrate the fact that nobody in their conference cares about playing them.

These attitudes run deep up there. What would make anyone think they would care about VT as a rival? We may enjoy the games but they won't develop into any real rivalries. Don't kid yourself.

VT has the best of it right now. Cherry-pick the programs you want to play out of conference (OSU, PSU, Michigan, Wisky, Nebraska) and enjoy those games when they come around :)
