nsir- all: state police speed traps on I-64, Zion Crossroads - RVA in both
directions through Thanksgiving weekend.
a close friend and father of one of our supervisory State Troopers told me Sunday that:
Virginia State Police will intensify their presence and be strictly enforcing traffic speed on I-64 along the stretch from Richmond through Zion Crossroads, both directions, through (at least) Thanksgiving. there has been a major uptick in accidents and/causing major injuries/deaths along that stretch caused by exceeding the speed limits. speed limits of "speed limit + 5 mph" (not the normal cushion of + 9 mph) may be strictly enforced as the permitted speed.
with the 7:20 dook kick, we won't have too rush quite as much to get "home," but every Hokie i know gets a little anxious on game-weekends to get to 'burg and LaneWorsham; and 'occasionally' we rev it up a little over the limit (i know i do). the sPitt game time is yet TBA; and turkey 'n gravy-hoo game weekend is going to be trooper scrutinized as well, in order to, hopefully, get everybody where they are going safely without incident.
be careful. be safe. Go Hokies!
