The SEC has been improving each year and is on the same level as the ACC.
Maybe the SEC Network money is the reason? The SEC is building nicer facilities for women's soccer and their games are shown on the SECN. Once the ACCN gets going, more of our games will be on television instead of ESPN3. The over all production quality will be much better.
As for the ACC, Clemson got in with a RPI of 38 (Tech had he same RPI last season and didn't get in) and Wake got in with a RPI of 42.
I was looking at the Tech Women's Soccer end of the regular season RPI's since joining the ACC back in 2005.
2005: 120, 2006: 104, 2007: 53, 2008: 29, 2009: 10, 2010: 44, 2011: 21, 2012: 32, 2013: 5 (College Cup), 2014: 16, 2015: 13, 2016: 38, and 2017: 57. This season was the lowest RPI since 2006 and comparable to 2007. Chugger's average RPI during his 7 years as head coach is 26. This season was by far his worst year as head coach.
