I think outside the top ten it’s about intangibles
Athleticism and raw talent with potential are obvious ones. Jordan Burroughs is a big example of this. A lot of colleges passed on him because he was so raw. Also with some other kids I think you need to look at their current situation. Some kids just don’t have the coaching to get them any further than they currently are. Also there are kids who can’t financially afford to make it to all of the big tournaments which are pretty much the only way you can crack the top ten. It’s pretty impossible to break the top ten without facing anyone in the top ten.
