Nebraska recruited from Texas before they were in the Big XII and they can

continue to do so if they want to, even if they're no longer in that conference. Mike Riley and his staff had more west coast connections, so they chose to prioritize California recruiting over Texas recruiting. I would imagine that the next head coach is likely to put more emphasis on recruiting Texas than Riley has.
