Perhaps I should file this under extreme wishful thinking...

But I got the impression watching Buzz last night that he 'wanted' to lose this game. As has been mentioned, he was extremely passive, almost disinterested in the game. There was absolutely no sense of urgency from the players and perhaps that was fed by seemingly no sense of urgency from Buzz at all. There was no intensity on defense until the last 4 minutes of the game. He didn't look or act upset at really any point in the game. Not on the poor play, miscommunication, bad defense, silly fouls. I mean nothing. Could he have wanted a oss to kind of show the team that they can't just go through the motions?

Random thoughts:
1) Blackshear just gave every ACC team the blue print to taking him out of the game. He has got to stop with silly fouls. On a team with no bigs, what in the world is he doing even being in position to commit a foul 25 feet from the basket? I won't be surprised if he fouls out of half our ACC contests.
2) Justin Bibbs is the only leader right now on this team and he just got out of the dog house. Robinson wants to be a leader, but doesn't have enough self control.
3) We had two possessions under 3 minutes to go down 4 points and we got two 3 point attempts. Now both of them were good looks, but given how much foul trouble SLU was in, it was criminal not trying to get to the hoop in either situation.
4) Chris Clarke should not be playing as many minutes as he is. He doesn't look 100% to me.
5) Both Robinson and Clarke should be required to spend extra time finishing in practice. They may be the two best players at getting there, but they are god awful at getting the ball in the hoop. If VT ends up not shooting FTs that well, then they better start scoring around the hoop.
6) I'm glad that Buzz has a really deep group, but I think that depth hurt last night. Guys miscommunicating, running into each other, fighting each other for rebounds. On teams with less depth, I think it is easier to build cohesive units quicker. I'm sure in the long run this won't be a problem.
6) I was pretty hot after the game, but I really don't think this game is indicative of how the season is going to play out.
