Why should the cost of a pedestrian bridge in Roanoke be


shouldered by the tax payers of the entire state (or nation) rather than the locality?

That is my issue. If it is desirable and beneficial to a certain location, then allow the expense to reside with those who will benefit from it. If it is necessary and beneficial, then the localities will find a way to finance it.

I do understand major roadways are a completely separate issue but not pedestrian bridges.
