Sat through a REI presentation on “through hiking” the AT...


...by two people who had hiked it the previous year. Asked about hiking boots, and they said very few hikers wear them. They prefer low top “trail running “shoes. They said their legs are strong enough to prevent ankle sprains within a week.

Not a 100% correlation to basketball, but the principal is the same.
