Terry Don Phillips got rid of Clemson's programs.

It was a shame when it happened. He believed they needed a 50 meter pool to compete, and he decided not to try to find a way to finance one. So he eliminated the swimming programs altogether. I remember when it happened, and it was a shame. Clemson could have continued the programs using the pool they had while working on a solution, but he didn't want to. I've attached some background. Syracuse did the same thing by the way. So did Maryland. But they are the Big Ten's problem now.

Clemson kept the women's program for a while longer than the men's to comply with Title IX. But they are now replacing it with Softball. Clemson is adding softball this year I believe. This is good for ACC softball. That means only Miami and Wake Forest in the ACC are without softball. Everyone else has it.
