all neutral court losses count exactly the same in the RPI formula? It does not matter if the loss was to Duke, Saint Louis or East Podunk Women’s College of Charlottesville.
For any given game, 75% of the effect on your RPI is simply the fact that you played a particular team. It is purely your opponent’s win percentage and the win percentage of your opponent’s opponents. Game outcome is only considered for 25% of the RPI formula, with road wins counting as 1.4 wins, home wins counting as 0.6 wins and neutral court wins counting as 1.0 win.
