A problem in the SEC is that you have at least 2 built-in losses annually.
Kevin Sumlin was 7-5 but if he plays in the East, he probably finishes 9-3 (losses to UCLA, UGA, and a crossover opponent in the west) and everyone is happy.
Sure, the money is great, but unless you're Nick Saban, you're only getting that money for a few years and then your career is over.
At Tech, Fuente could probably stay until he retires if he wants to and it would take multiple losing seasons for him to be on the hot seat. And we can usually just show up and have a winning season - even when recruiting dropped off because everyone knew Beamer was about to retire, we never had a losing season.
