absolutely- they come to a conclusion (and there is a no good conclusion) and then spin a rationale to support it- that they will disregard next time around.

the only answer is to make the committee much less relevant. and the only way to do that is expand (I think to 8) and give (I would argue) 6 automatic bids- P5s and top ranked non-P5. Then the committee is reduced (at most ) to picking 2 at larges and seeding.

It is only a matter of time- this current "system" is just another inching in the generational snail pace of getting to a real playoff.
