I wish the number of plays per minute would be done away
with as a measure of tempo. The number of plays a team runs (and thus extension the number per minute) has more to do with how much you have the ball, how efficient your offense, staying on the field, converting 3rd downs, etc. If you are going 3-and-out or whatever that reduces your number of plays, your numbers will be different than if you are punting regularly or even scoring quickly.
