That's me, too. It's one of those "the cobbler's kids have no shoes" things


I work in the commercial construction industry, yet my house is one big unfinished project, mainly because I never have enough time to do everything, but I have a hard time paying someone to do what I am capable of doing myself.

So, I currently have a small hole in the ceiling of our family room from a tree branch that punched through the roof (ranch house; the roof was repaired) in a storm over a year ago, I have raw sheetrock compound on the kitchen ceiling where I skimmed an area that was damaged when we replaced the overhead light, and we have multiple incomplete painting projects. The end product will be good....if we ever get there. But right now, it wouldn't reflect well on me to a stranger.
