Agree. Against the HOOs, the running game wasn't flashy, but ...
... it was effective. It killed clock, and ate yards. it was able to keep the HOO offense off the field, which means our thin D was able to stay fresh, which allowed them to play lights out when they were on the field.
Seems as if a team that runs for over 200 yds, and there aren't any 30 or 40 yd gains involved, then the running game is very, very effective.
