Because NFL teams don't want to expose starters on ST.


Doesn't make sense.

And Beamer wouldn't have done it, except it was a calculated risk he needed to take. Especially in the early years, we were always undermanned talent wise.

So he started a lot of O and D starters on ST because he knew it was the fastest way to turn a ball game around.
