Since the gameday roster is only 46-man, you will see NFL teams
use starters on special teams. If you look at the picture of the Redskins FG unit, it looks like all 5 starting OL are on the FG (and probably PAT) unit. FWIW Ziggy Hood is the starting NT and also on the unit. #56 is Zach Vigil who appears to be a 2nd string MLB behind Zach Brown. I bet if you went through each NFL team then you will find each team as at least 1 unit (FG, PAT, Kickoff, Punt, Kickoff Return, Punt Return, FG Defense, and PAT Defense) with a starter on it.
Also, the reference to Beamerball was more about the unit making an effort to try to block the kick. There have been quite a few times when I have seen a DL just stand up on a FG or PAT and make no effort to try to block it. Or a player, who is rushing off the edge, just run straight ahead or directly to his bench even before the kicker has kicked the ball. In the YouTube clip the Packers have 3 players (#31, #32, and #52) who make no effort to try to block the kick. It is possible #32's and #52's role is to defend against a fake. However, there is no reasonable explanation for #31 running straight ahead (off the edge) and stopping on the 6 yard line.
