it is an equivalency sport and as clearly stated in the article referenced in this thread there are roster limits and counter limits. Your blanket statement is not correct for at least one equivalency sport. Hopefully someone with access to the info can clarify whether there are others or not. As I have already conceded there is room for advantage with no limits. Even with limits there could still be other considerations. Some players may only want the Stanford education and the aid swings it. Some may value the opportunity for potential playing time and choose to go elsewhere in spite of the educational and economic advantages. Again, the initial dispute was with the level of advantage and the way it was characterized by the original poster. The dispute is not that Stanford doesn't have more money or that VT can fund that at an equivalent level where participation is unlimited. We obviously have a difference of opinion as to the realistic level of that advantage.
