This is amazing. WNC Hokie posted last night
When a freshman in 1964 I attended a freshman orientation class in Burris auditorium. The speaker told us "shake hands with the person on your left and shake hands with the person on your right - because in four years only one of you will be at VPI. The philosophy then seemed to be how many could be flunked out. The draft waited for those who didn't stay in school. I made it to graduate, however I was accepted for grad school - but couldn't due to draft. What a time.
I replied TIC: Was that you?
And it was! And I don't have a clue who it was other than my roommate at the time. I really hope that he contacts me.
That is really a needle in a haystack kind of event.
