Disagry

I just saw it last night so haven't had a lot of time to process or think deep thoughts, but I really liked it.

I liked that they continued from Rogue One the theme that there's shades of gray on both the bad and good sides.

I liked the use of humor to what I thought was great effect. Much better than Ragnarok where it was way overdone.

I liked that they puppeteered Yoda instead of full on CGI.

I liked that the director led the audience along the path they expected a Star Wars film to take and then made a left turn, numerous times.

I liked the references to the practicalities of the war and the empire, like running out of gas and the economics of things.

There were some things I'm not sold on - like how Hux could possibly have been that incompetent and risen to that level of command (though maybe that was an on-purpose point about the dangers of bloated bureaucracies or megalomaniacs at the helm or something like that).

I think Ep IX is going to be 20 years in the future, when broomstick boy and his generation is old enough to be in the resistance/rebellion and there's a final resolution.
