I don't think Sunday is the issue.


Playing on Sunday will always be at the end of the paragraph. "We don't want BYU because of intolerance, honor code, ego.... and they can't play on Sunday. If Sunday were the only issue, conferences would find a work-around.
BYU is definitely stuck. G5 conferences don't meet the church's goal and P5 conferences don't want them because of the church's influence. The B12 has Baylor and TCU, both church affiliated. It is the extent of BYUs church affiliation that is the issue.
