Lefty's QB recruits showed me dual threat is best over pro-style for sure

When Lefty got here I think a lot of us were excited that he seemed to be focusing on highly rated pro-style passers. This actually worried me, because I felt like it was too much of a shift away from what we had leveraged in our most successful offenses. I also felt that we at least had a history of showing elite dual threat QBs that we let them play their game their way at VT.

This is not a bash Lefty post, but with the exception of Josh Jackson I can't say that the QBs he was super excited about did all that well on the college level. David Cornwell ended up at Alabama, had to transfer to Nevada and lost the starting job there. Jacob Park committed to Georgia, bounced around and ended up at Iowa State, and I think he lost the starting job there this year. Andrew Ford wasn't what you would call a special player. IMO if you get a dual threat guy that doesn't pan out, you can at least see if he can play another position.
