It is possible that some of those pro athletes are pricks and don't believe in donating to charity. However, JV doesn't seem to be that type of pro athlete. So if a pro athlete decides not to give to his/her school, then is it possible he/she doesn't agree with the direction the school, the school's athletic department, or college athletics in general are heading in? It wouldn't surprise me if JV and other pro athletes either donate anonymously or through a third party because they don't want to be associated with the donation out of concern that the spotlight would be focused on the individual and not the charitable organization.
