Coaching and talent individually necessary, but not sufficient conditions

(When I say coaching I mean all facets, player development, strategy, tactics, etc.) If you have amazing talent and poor coaching, or amazing coaching and poor talent, you can win a lot of games and have a respectable season. But, you're not going to be able to take the next step and win conference titles, or compete for playoff spots, if you have only 1 of those 2.

Generally the focus on this board revolves around recruiting because that's obviously the weaker of the two areas. The defensive coaching has been at a good enough level for years. The offensive coaching used to be a weakness (though talent used to be better). Now people, myself included, generally believe that the coaching on both sides of the ball is good enough to win conference titles and get to the playoffs IF they can recruit enough talent.
