Here is what I learned from working 5 years in auto manufacturing.....


If the car is from an average to above average manufacturer & if you keep it serviced on schedule & if your driving habits are not crazy, then you shouldn't need an extended warranty. Some things to consider are how long you intend to keep the car. If you want to keep it a long time with lots of mileage then the extended warranty may be good idea. Also, do some research to determine where the car was assembled and where the parts were manufactured. You want cars assembled in the US with parts manufactured in US or the same country as the car brand (ie. Kia from Korea, Toyota from Japan). For example, you don't want a Ford assembled in Mexico built from parts manufactured in China or Taiwan.
