Had a close encounter with one this fall


Morning run on the Mall at the Reflecting Pool.

Hawk was on the ground no more than 15 feet from me and another runner who had stopped to watch.

Hawk would look around and then turn to look at us. Kept alternating for 2-3 minutes.

Other runner finally left but before he did he turned to me and said, “That was cool”.

And it certainly was.
