Obviously if A's having a terrible night and B's having a great night at the same time then A is likely to lose no matter who the 2 teams are. What I'm saying is that the situations where a great defensive team gives up a lot of points unexpectedly, the offense has to be able to cover for them, and this has shown to be historically difficult for the respective basketball and football programs.
