There are great odds of surviving a nuke these days.


Unless you are directly under ground zero or out in the open your odds of immediate survival from a NK sized hydrogen bomb are pretty good. Radiation is a danger but a large enough amount of earth or concrete and steel between you and the blast will shield you from the most lethal burst. After the blast it really depends on how fast you can get upwind and how much residual radiation you absorb before you exit the hot zone.
