When you look at our lineups on the court

we often have 4 players at 6'5" and shorter. when clark is on the floor, we have 4 at 6'6" and shorter. both are assuming KJ is on the court. compared to a lot of ACC teams, who typically have 3 players at 6'6" and taller, it does create an issue on the perimeter especially when the other team's 3 or 4 spot have long range capabilities.

take our starting lineup and match things up with syracuse's starting lineup. man to man matchups.
1-robinson (6'2") vs howard (6'5") - mismatch
2-hill (6'5") vs battle (6'6") - mismatch
3/4-NAW (6'5") vs brissett (6'8") - mismatch
3/4-bibbs or clark (6'5" or 6'6") vs moyer (6'8") - mismatch

look at louisville
1-robinson vs snider (6'2") - even
2-hill vs deng (6'7") - mismatch
3/4-NAW vs king (6'6") - mismatch
3/4-bibbs or clark vs spalding (6'10") - mismatch

i understand not all are outside shooters but you get the point. at the 1 and 2 positions we will compare reasonably. we struggle at the 3/4 with our length. those are just heights but don't reflect arm span, vertical, other features that may impact our ability to effectively disrupt a taller shooter's stroke. even with getting clark matched up against their shortest 3/4, we give up length at reciprocal spot. it is what it is.

there are techniques and strategies to mitigate the length but they require excellent execution and focus to constantly impact the shooting rhythm.
