I have a friend who started young in the government's CSRS retirement plan

It's a pension plan that pays 2 percent per year served. She started at age 19 and worked until 60, which gave her 41 years in the plan. So she got over 80 percent of her final salary.

Then she went back to work in another position (funded differently) that paid her 100% of her previous salary, so she's making 180% of her original salary in 'retirement.'
