There were about 5-6 defensive rotations in the game that were
what I would call "desperate." One of our players had gone for a steal or overplayed a pass or something and was way out of position. I was like, "crap!" each time because it's essentially 5 on 4 at that point. UNC rotated the ball to open players, and our guys desperately rotated to guard the ball as it was swung, sometimes from *really* far away. I don't recall them scoring on a single one of those possessions.
Even assuming they only make half the open shots they should normally get on scramble rotations, that's a difference of 6-9 points in the game.
We also rebounded desperately.
Those two things are/were huge differences.
