TAX Question: 1st time home buyer

Wife owned a townhouse, we bought a house together in 2017. Wife sold her townhouse in 2017, I have never owned a house. Do we qualify for 1st time Home Owners? I'm asking because I can write off $10,000 I borrowed from 401K for the down payment if we qualify?

Will a red flag go up since she sold her house and we bought one?
