IMO that was key qualification for any VT coach because Whit understands that VT does not recruit like an SEC school. VT will need someone who can take a majority 3 star team with a handful of 4 star and the occasional 5 star group of kids and develop it into something special with the hope of earlier successes translating into longer term improvements in recruiting. In short I don’t think how UT or any other school recruits relative to VT matters to him.
