I personally would like to see Bud copy the Clemson model for the DL. We


have had some success with the smaller faster DE's in the past but as mentioned, they become overwhelmed at the point of attack and are easily schemed against by the better teams. With today's faster paced offenses, no matter how quick the DE is, they have almost no chance to get to the QB because they do not typically hold the ball long enough. Fewer teams are running pro style offenses with the seven step drops and slow developing plays.

I think if Bud would start changing up to the bigger (and still twitchy) DE's, he would have more success against the better teams and he would likely have more success putting more DE's in the NFL which would only help during recruiting. Just an opinion though.
