After reading the article about Valentines Day cards I went looking at how I could contribute. I get needing to build a mailing list, but they automatically add you if you send a card and tell you to pot out later if desired. One of them had a check box to not get emails -- but wouldn't process your card if you didn't check it.

I didn't mind that after submitting it took you to a donation page. That's smart. But don't make me enter your mailing list to send a card to a sick kid. Way to take a great thing and go too heavy into Marketing World with it.
