Video recording software recommendations

Hey computer gurus - computer challenged old guy here with a question.

What is the best software for recording a video clip from the internet?

There is play from a hockey game Friday night that I would like to record and share but don't know how to do so. I assume there is user friendly software that will essentially record what is showing on the screen, but the technical verbiage is all Greek to me.

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.
