based on what he feels his value is to VT, he'd be somewhere else or he'd be pressing for more money (which he may in fact be doing right now for all we know) People get paid based on what they are worth AND what the organization can afford in a free market to pay their top employees. Simple concept. There's also more to the puzzle than just dollars and cents. Bud obviously finds a lot of value in being at VT, living in Bburg, being close and being able to afford his particular lifestyle. He has it made at VT and he knows it.
