I remember in the 70s, everyone wanted a legitimate 7 foot center.
Clemson had Tree Rollins. Virginia had Ralph Sampson and we had Roy Brow.
Now, they're as scarce as Disco bands.
The College game has evolved. You can get by with 6'-8" centers now.
In fact, we're a very short team with only one player over 6'-7" yet we've outrebounded some pretty good teams this year. Coaches started to realize it's less about height and more about quickness, footwork and desire.
