I use it for lamps that plug in ...


You buy a special outlet that plugs into your regular outlet. You have to download an app and go through the steps to get the outlet connected to your wifi and then enable it on Alexa. The cool thing about the outlets is that they are portable - you simply name them on the app and you can move them around as you need them. You can also set timers, etc right on the app and control them remotely. Worked great for Christmas lights and Christmas trees.
