If/When VT does decide to build a new arena, then it will be interesting to see where it will be built. My initial guess is where the tennis courts on Washington Street are located (may not be enough room) or somewhere on the other side of Southgate Drive. As I look at the map of the campus, the open lawn between East AJ and Pritchard kinda jumps out at me. If there is enough room, then VT could squeeze it in there. I guess the reason I noticed it is because an assumption I am making is that VT would prefer to build the new arena near the Practice Center. In theory VT could use some things (i.e. locker rooms for the VT teams) in the Practice Center so it wouldn't have to build a locker room for the home team. The buildings could be connected by a tunnel.
