I agree that any parent feels differently about it if their

child was involved in it. However, I believe society still has a long way to go to catch up to where it is no longer celebrating or joking about it in a positive light.

I am not sure I could say with any certainty that a production company would today shelve the idea of rebooting "The Graduate" or reboot "American Pie" minus Stifler's mom because of the social taboos it promotes. Whereas, I can say with almost certainty that no production would consider rebooting "Lolita" for a second time (original done in 1962 and remake done in 1997).
