problems at the time were 1 - academics, 2 - fan behavior and 3 - none of the N.C. schools wanted them. As we well know, Loserville is not a bastion of academic excellence, so number 1 could have been overcome, UNC’s academic transgressions not withstanding. Item #2 was still an issue - there were still vivid memories of WV bad fan behavior. Item #3 - not sure if this would still be an issue, but the Carolina Mafia might still be able to railroad a potential new member.

For us VT folks Loserville was always a bad choice, mostly due to past history with them. As it turns out, not much really changed since they booted us out of the Metro.
