FWIW Article 14 in the 2017-2018 NCAA I Bylaws is entitled "Academic Eligibility." I suspect UNC and/or at least 1 student-athlete that took the fake class violated at least 1 bylaw in that article. However, the NCAA opted not to pursue it (probably) because someone believed it would be another PR disaster. Maybe even bigger than when the NCAA tried to punish Penn State.
