I had one until a media trainer told me it made me look too intimidating


This was about 1999. She urged me to shave it off, to look more friendly on camera. This was a big deal for me, as I had had one since 1982. I shaved it off and ... no one noticed. It was amazing. I finally started asking people if they noticed something different. I think it's because my 'stache was blondish at the time. Haven't had one since, and when I look at photos of me with one, I just wonder what I was thinking. Because I did look like a porn star.
