This has to be a very nuanced conversation. With MV its about wow factor..

Look, you can compare highlight reels, and nothing you see out of Lamar Jackson really makes you leave your jaw on the floor. MV did things human beings aren't supposed to be able to do.physically. Translating that talent into producing points is a slightly different conversation.

I'll say this, to take that boring, predictable, power I offense from 1999 and make it top 10 in the land...well, I have huge doubts that Lamar Jackson could have done the same thing.

Having said that, I have doubts that a college age Michael Vick could have ran a more complex Bobby Petrino offense to its potential like Lamar Jackson did. That's a tough one. LJ worked inside of the scheme. MV's play transcended a playbook that was not designed for his talent.

Who has the most raw talent? MV, and its not all that close. Who is the better QB? Probably LJ, but who cares? From a pure numbers game there's many QBs better than both of them.

I'll say this though, MV set a freshman record at the time for passing efficiency. If you didn't have the benefit of history, NOBODY would have taken LJ over MV in 1999.
