Let your Mom handle the Aunt. You can be the back up to your Mom.


I would not worry about the missed bills. If things continue to go downhill maybe your Aunt can move in with your Mom. If that is too much work then your Mom can find a home for her to live. Right now your Mom should be the back up not you. You can be the second backup if needed.

My best buddy at work is dealing with an issue right now with his Mom and dementia. She repeats herself all the time but can remember long term stuff. She still has a lot of energy though and is very social. He has 3 brothers but he ended up helping getting her set up in a home for folks that struggle with dementia. This way she is able to stay social and does not have to travel anywhere.
