Overall I think they are worse today than I have ever seen in my life time. There are some very good officials; however, some are absolutely terrible. The major conferences need to crack down on them and hold them accountable. Reporting to the conference office is a waste of time because they apparently do nothing to correct any of the mistakes made by officials. Many conclude the bad calls seldom cost a team; HOWEVER, when games are decided by a point or two then those bad calls are critical in the out come of a game. Again, my point is they need to be held accountable. Cut their pay or the number of games they call or do something to get the situation under control for the benefit of athletes who work extremely hard to be cheated on the court by bad officiating.
