There are good arguments to be made for any of the P4.

From a fan's perspective, the SEC makes the most sense, as road-trips to Arkansas/LSU/A&M/Mizzou would be easier to do than the other three.

From an academic perspective, the B1G, PAC, and ACC would all be huge improvements for us. And, honestly, the SEC is academically superior to the Big 12, as well. But more so the other three.

Recruiting-wise, no matter what happens, we'll always be good in Texas. That's been our primary well of talent since long before we were conference-mates with the horns. And given the talent we always seem to pull from Cali and the east coast, we can recruit anywhere.

For years my assumption was that we would go to the conference that would be willing to also take the cowboys. It wasn't even a state legislature thing, but a handshake and a promise from President Boren to not leave them behind if the Big 12 collapsed. But now that he's retiring, I'm not sure.

I guess this is just a long-winded way of saying "I don't know." That being said, my gut ranks the possibilities as:

1. SEC - w/ Ok State
2. PAC - w/ texas, Ok State, and two others tbd
3. B1G - but only w/ texas (no way they'll take Ok State, and we won't put ourselves in a position to have to play both the horns and Cowboys OOC every year)
4. ACC - With you all sitting at 15-ish members already, I honestly don't know how this would work. But stranger things have happened.
5. Joining the Moon Conference
6. Staying in the Big 12
