IMO, Aysha Richardson and Carrie Eberle had more pressure

placed on them last season. We lost Aiken to injury. Carrie was thrown into the fire and got better as the season progressed. Richardson got injured late in the season placing even more pressure on freshmen Carrie Eberle and Taylor Barnes. Our pitching depth got so bad that 2B Olivia Lattin and 3B Chelsea Whitcomb (until she broke her hand) had to pitch. Seldom used Elizabeth Birle even pitched. Last year was so stressful that our best player (IMHO), catcher Lauren Duff, left the team and Barnes decided to just be a student and not a member of the softball program. We had trouble scoring runs last season against better teams. Things haven't changed that much as of today except that we have more pitching depth and more depth at catcher even though neither of them are as productive as Duff. Lauren Duff simply got over worked last season. Carrie Eberle took her lumps as a freshman but has seemed to have learned from her freshman experience. If Dail and Rochard progress like Eberle did, we'll have better pitching next season. Offensively, we have to improve or we'll continue to lose low scoring games. Both Eberle and Dail have ERA's under 2.00. That should be good enough to beat the mid-majors who are beating us this season. We should be beating teams like Radford, Jacksonville, Ball State, and Lamar.
