Most players in the draft are likely to be 21, soon to be 22.
He's likely two full years younger than the typical NFL draftee. What if Edmunds ends up being a great player with longevity? What if his body holds up and he can play until he's 34? If you're the team who drafts him and you're able to hold onto him, you're getting him for 14 years instead of 12 -- and you're getting more "prime" years out of him.
I imagine that would be the thinking. The younger he is, the more road he likely has in front of him.
